We’ll pick you up from your hotel and take you to the airport, where we’ll take the flight towards Calama. Once there, a private vehicle will be waiting for us to take us to San Pedro de Atacama. This day we’ll do the team introduction, alongside expedition checklist. Afternoon free to visit and take a walk in the town. Accomodation: Diego de Almagro Hotel or similar.
We’ll start early in the morning travelling towards El Tatio Geysers, at 4.300 meters above sea level. Here we’ll have the option to enjoy some hot springs and the view of this amazing vapor stream that raises at 20 meters above the ground. Later, we’ll pass through the small town of Machuca, to end up in San Pedro after an awesome trip with spectacular landscapes. Afternoon-night free.
We’ll have our breakfast while enjoying an amazing view of Atacama Salt flat. Later, we’ll have a little walk inside, where we’ll learn more about salt properties and be able to take some shots of the landscape. After this special morning, we’ll head towards Cejar Lagoon, where we’ll be able to swim in and float by its salinity.
Atacama offers an interesting set of lagoons that make an awesome contrast with summits that are in the nearby. This is the case of Miscanti and Miñiques lagoons, that we’ll visit in the morning alongside a nice cocktail to enjoy even more the tour. Later, we’ll head towards Chaxa lagoon. where chilean flamingos live. Photos and a better approach will be able in this amazing place.
Early in the morning, we’ll head towards the Red Stones area, where big iron stones and a beautiful lake will make the perfect environment to take the official Exploration Group Photo. In the afternoon, the Moon Valley will be waiting for us to enjoy the salt caves and some of the most incredible landscapes, highlighted by the dunes, the 3 maries and more.
One of the most special moments will be at sunset, where we’ll climb a light dune to enjoy the sun going down all together.
Farewell time: Hotel pick up and transfer to Calama airport to go back to Santiago.
